I was all set to buy myself a new leather biker jacket when Grazia had the 25% off offer at Whistles the other week. When I got to the store and tried on the Marlon Biker in both black and worn in dark grey for some reason I just didn’t think it looked right. So after about 15 minutes trying each colour on I decided not to buy.
The Whistles mid-season sale started this week and I needed some plain black chunky-ish heeled shoes so thought I would see if they had the Mai-Thai on sale. I had my eye on the Mai-Thai shoe since they were first out during AW12 however during the last sale round the black version weren’t reduced and I didn’t love them enough to splash the full price cash. Good job I waited as this time they were!
So on Saturday I popped into the Guildford store and luckily they had the shoes in my size, reduced from £125 to £75. Bargain!! They are black suede, pointed toes with a chunky heel and an ankle strap. If you have read my other posts a love an ankle strap and ankle straps were everywhere for AW13 so these were a good buy.
While I was trying the shoes on I asked the assistant if they had the Marlon biker in a size 10 for me to try again, and within a few minutes she came back with the black version – last one in store. This time when I tried it on and bang – it just felt so right!
I don’t think I was wearing the right clothes to go with it when I first tried it on but this time it was jacket love and with £100 off the price tag I decided to treat myself. I tried it on wearing my Zoe Karssen Suicide Blonde grey sweater, black skinny Goldsign jeans with black and white suede Nike SB Blazers; the jacket just finished the outfit off. £195 for good quality leather jacket is a decent price. Whistles leather is always so soft with excellent detailing this one will last me for ages, just want the rain and the cold to go away so I can wear it.
Have you bagged any bits from the Whistles sale?
