Over the past year I have been to 3 weddings, 2 were family member weddings (bro-in-law and cousin) the other one of my best friends I have known since I was 6yrs old.

I love the idea of going to wedding, an excuse to dress up and have fun but I have to say on the whole I find weddings so totally dull and a bit boring!  The 2 family weddings were very traditional affairs – church followed by a formal sit down meal in a hotel.  My friends was far more relaxed, a small registry office do (I was a witness) followed by chinese restaurant meal straight after, with a full-on open house party in the evening at a local function room – simple!  I have to say I prefer the latter approach!

Anyway, not going to go into a full on wedding rant, but what I have noticed is how bad most women look at weddings.  Just where do you buy those satin dresses, the pointy satin sling back kitten heels, the satin wrap, the beaded satin clutch bag (notice the satin theme here!) and those little fascinator things! I actually think Kate Middleton (well all the bloody Middletons) has a lot to answer for!

So over the past year I have taken a different approach to wedding guest attire.  There have been two staple items in my 3 very different wedding looks…

First up my classic black Mulberry Lily bag which Mr B bought for me this time last year.

Such a great size and I love the oily snake print.

And my favourite Reiss shoes…

I bought these beauties back in December 2010 for about £48 in the sale, they are so comfortable due to the stacked heel and the slight platform.  I love the ankle straps as well they are covered in tiny studs, wish I could find a plain pair as well.

Coming up are the 3 different wedding outfits…
