I’ve blogged about the skate/street crossover to the high st/high end before so I won’t go on a big whinge here but if you haven’t noticed, slip-on skate style shoes are huge! I guess this is following on from the slipper trend which I’m not a fan of at all, nor are any men I know – so don’t go on a date in slipper shoes! At least the skate style slip-on is more flattering I think than slipper shoes, enough slipper bashing, I guess they look fine in summer with bare legs but I just don’t find them very flattering, like ballerina flats – kind of essential but god give me sneakers any day!
So here’s my pick of the best skate shoes out there – while I love the Celine shoes there is no way I would splash the cash on them, I think I will be sticking with Vans, although I have seen the Whistles pair featured below in store and I do like. If you want the Celine tartan look without breaking the bank then Topshop have the best version that I can find.
1.Lena slip on trainer at Whistles – £135 2, Classic black & White Vans at Office – £46.99 3, Floral slip-ons by Mother of Pearl at Matches.com – £250 4, Dialog trains by ASOS Collection at ASOS – £22.00
5, Floral print & black leather by Givenchy at NET-A-PORTER – £415 6, TIKA2 tartan slip-ons at Topshop – £20 7, Laurel blue animal print by Carvela at Kurt Geiger – £95 8, Black pony hair slip-on by at River Island – £45
Will you be swapping your slippers/ballerinas for these?
