Another new brand discovery!!

Handwritten has been about for a while but it’s not a brand I’m too familiar with.  Tanya Sarne is the lady behind the label, the same Tanya Sarne who was behind Ghost and you can see the similarities with the Handwritten collection.  I first heard about this brand at ‘Scoop’ this year when I went along with the Woodie & Morris team and while it isn’t a style of clothing I would be initially drawn to; the clothes are just too beautiful to miss out on and once I started to look I loved the  style and feel of the dresses and blouses.  Most of the pieces are made from the most beautiful viscose (treated with the Handwritten secret mix) fabric which is amazingly soft, it looks and feels like pure silk but I’ve learned that Handwritten can be just be chucked in the washing machine, which is fast becoming the  normal approach to my clothes!

From this collection I had my eye on one of the dresses in particular and kept hassling Mel at Woodie and Morris, desperate for it to come into stock, once it did out came the plastic as I made a dash to Haslemere to grab myself one before they sold out. Its not often that I buy a dress but I loved the simplicity of this dress, the asymentic hem and the huge pockets – the pockets swung it for me!!  This style kinda reminds me of early All Saints – before they went logo mad and I fell out of love with what the had to offer.

This dress can be worn in so many different ways, when I tried it on at Woodie & Morris I was wearing my Liberty x Vans and it just worked for a relaxed look, I would’ve paired this with a denim jacket but then remembered its still in storage!  But equally with party season coming up this is a great dress, just add heels & red lippy!

I had forgotten all about these shoes!!  They are about 6yrs old from the sale at Reiss, think I have only worn them out once before, these can come out to play this party season 🙂
