I have already blogged about American Vintage before as I’m a big fan of their tees and on a recent visit to The Dressing Room I got myself some amazing trousers (and another tee!) from them.  In fact even when I was in France shopping in my favourite little boutique in Cap Ferret the first top I pulled out was by American Vintage, I love the brand that much!

So when the lovely Jaime over at The Dressing Room sent me a Jacksonville tee in Slate to try out and review, it turned out that this bad boy certainly was worn a lot!  I probably would’ve gone for black or proper grey but this colour is so versatile with my wardrobe as you will see in my pictures below.

Now these tees seem a little bit on the pricey side (£45) for basic tees but trust me, I really believe you should invest in your main wardrobe staples as they last and last and generally get worn the most.  I’ve said it before on here but what I love about the entire American Vintage collection is the softness of the fabrics; their clothes just feel so nice and luxurious against the skin and these tees are perfect for  layering up now temperatures have started to drop.

The Jacksonville style is quite a generous fit, I can wear small or medium.  In these pictures I’m wearing a medium, which is nice and baggy for layering.  It’s the cotton/viscose mix that gives these the soft, vintage washed feel.

Casual Lunch Date with Mr B

In these pics I teamed the tee with my JBrand Rail jeans also from The Dressing Room, my beloved Whistles biker leather, the ASH sneakers added a pop of colour, JCrew NY Hat (which I actually bought for Mr B) and my Prozena Schouler PSI got an outing.

Entertaining at home

Next up I paired the tee with my American Vintage trousers I bought on my visit to The Dressing Room.  Manager, Charlotte got me to try these trousers on and they’re now a firm favorite in my wardrobe.  Add a pair of Reiss heels and a statement necklace from COS for my at home dinner party look.  We later went out for a few drinks so my faux fur  coat by Selected Femme added some warmth over the tee and extra glamour!

Lazy Weekend with Alfie

I took Alfie for a (short) walk; he wanted his dad so much so we didn’t get far – big soppy boy! It was crisp but not cold enough for a coat so I layered up my tee with a JCrew plaid shirt and chunky knit from Elizabeth & James, worn with Current/Elliot boyfriends and Topshop boots.  This is a classic lazy weekend look for me.

Sunday Pub Lunch

On Sunday I like nothing more but to head to the local pub for a good old Sunday roast.  So I thought I would channel my best attempt at the classic American Vintage girl look (middle picture) and wore the American Vintage trousers (the elastic waist means I can eat loads!) with a chucky wool and leather ‘The Kooples’ cardigan, a Zadig & Voltaire scarf and Isabel Marant sneakers – totally french-touch! OK, so the hat isn’t French nor is the bag but give a girl a break ;)!

For the next week if you want to shop American Vintage or any other fab brand over at The Dressing Room (Becksondergarrd, JBrand, Hudson, Paul & Joe Sister, ASH, Twist & Tango etc etc) I have a little something for you!  If you use code READER15 you will get 15% off your purchases and free standard delivery, perfect for treating yourself or for buying a few Christmas gifts!
