So if you read my previous blog post you will know that on Wednesday I made a trip over to The Dressing Rooms for an ‘Insiders Event’ to see the fab new branding and find out more about what’s going on at the boutique but I also got to play dress-up! Now I don’t normally like help when looking for clothes but I thought why not try something different and I asked Charlotte to put together some fun, cool looks I could wear for work. My ‘smart‘ working wardrobe is always neglected and I’m stuck in a bit of a rutt when it comes to something to wear to a client meeting or presentation; it doesn’t help that my industry either dress like bankers or wear chinos, sensible shoes and fleeces – yes, seriously this is what I face on a daily basis!
I had a good browse around (and a few more glasses of fizz) while Charlotte put some looks together for me. First up was this amazing cat shirt by Paul & Joe Sister, just look at those kitties! As soon as I put this on I thought work are going to say ‘why are you wearing your PJs’ but I had a feeling this was going to make its way home with me until I spied ANOTHER cat top!!
Shirt – Paul & Joe Sister Minete Cat Print £130
This is the other cat top by Paul & Joe Sister, just how gorgeous is this print – cat confusion now!!! I really couldn’t buy two cat tops so guess which one I went for…..
I can’t find this one online but check out the Paul & Joe Sister collection here
Next up was a smart but quite glam look for me with some JBrand jeans, sheer leopard print blouse and a fab Maison Scotch jacket finished off with Lola Cruz ankle boots. I really liked this look as it was smart but causal enough for me to still feel like ‘me’
I spied some more animal print, this time a beautiful pure silk top by Mercy Delta. Now this top isn’t a colour I would normally go for, the only green I have in my wardrobe is military green but I really liked this top which was paired with black jeans which looked more like trousers, I can’t remember if these were the JBrands featured above or Twist & Tango – see drink and trying on clothes don’t mix!
The final look, which I really wasn’t too sure about on the rail, combined some American Vintage bonkers print trousers in almost a jogging bottom style, a black lace Day Birger tee with a Twist & Tango jacket. Strangely enough I fell in love with these trousers as soon as I put them on, the cut is very flattering on the legs, making my thighs look pretty lean in these!! I wouldn’t normally like that style of jacket either, I am very much a boyfriend blazer kinda girl, but it was a cool look for work.
I swapped out the lace tee for an American Vintage tee in plum for a slightly more relaxed look and, bang, those trousers had to come home!
I also came home with a fab goody bag ……
Don’t you just love these new bags?!
….which included a Becksondergarrd scarf, Tokyo Jane Branclets (love these!), Twist & Tango jacket and some other bits…. I had such a good day! If you’re in the St Albans area go and check the boutique out, the team are so friendly, I’m pretty sure you won’t walk out of there empty handed, or go browse the online store, the girls are only a phone call away if you need any assistance.
Big thanks again for the invite guys!
big <3 SJ xx
PS this isn’t a sponsored post, I was invited along but I did receive a goody bag as detailed above.
PPS I look a bit dishevelled in these pics, me & fizz at lunch time don’t mix 😉
