Spring has finally sprung, although it’s still a tad chilly, summer is feeling in touching distance and everyone is talking about their plans for summer holidays; perfect timing for the SS14 drop of Skandal at Woodie & Morris. I have written all about this ‘Barca label before so if you want to know more check out my previous posts ‘Lovin’ a Skandal | Barcelona Comes To Surrey‘ and ‘Lovin’ More Skandal Dresses | Bringing The Barcelona Vibe Home‘. This cool laid back summer label is exclusively stocked in the UK at Woodie & Morris and their dresses are just perfect for the summer and holidays.
This season the Skandal edit features a signature linen dress with diagonal button detail, a slightly sporty double layer linen dress and a silk tunic dress. What I love about each piece is that you can just chuck them in your suitcase and dress them up or down, I love layering the ones I own with a denim shirt and a pair of Converse for the ultimate relaxed, dressed down summer look.
This tunic dress is so slinky! It has a diagonal hem which makes it a little on the short side but this would work well with leggings if you’re not keen on showing a bit of leg! I’m wearing a medium (I’m normally a UK10) and it fits very true to size on me. There is a satin little breast pocket on the left hand side and button up detail near the neck on the back; the viscose feels like silk it’s so soft and has a bit of stretch to it. I decided to wear the charcoal grey version in these pictures but it also comes in cream and orange which would look awesome with a tan!

Linen Button Dress
The classic Skandal style! This dress just screams summer and can be worn so many ways. To wear this dress now, I ‘ve paired it with beige ankle boots and a vintage denim jacket but it would look equally as good with a denim shirt or chunky cardigan. I’m wearing a medium but could probably get away with a small in this style as it does seem to come up slightly larger than their normally sizing, being a viscose/linen mix there is no stretch in this dress. This dress has little cap sleeves and a diagonal button detail across the front of the dress, it’s just a pretty summer wardrobe staple. This dress is also available in white and taupe.

Linen Double Layer Dress
What a sporty little number this is. I love the double layer (Mr B thought this was a skirt and top) and the button detail down the back of this dress; it’s so easy to wear! The top part is like a tee-shirt and the skirt more like a Skandal linen dress – it’s a linen, viscose & cotton mix. Again I’m wearing a medium which did feel a little baggy but I think a small might be a bit too fitted around the hips for me.

I love all three dresses but I think my favourite has to be the double layer dress. The Skandal edit is in limited numbers of each piece so if you’re planning your summer wardrobe now get in quick before these go!
