This week I really noticed how much black and grey has sneaked into my wardrobe, so I thought I’d share two of my favourite (kinda predictable) outfits I wore to work this week.
First up couple of recent-ish purchases – my IDA by Donna Ida Audrey jeans and my grey Whistles sweater. I know I have said it before but commuting into London and sitting at my desk all day requires some cool comfort. I bought this top a month or so ago for £30 in the Whistles sale but it’s been too cold to wear it so it’s been lurking in the wardrobe.
I bought this top because
- it’s grey and goes with anything
- it has a black shiny, almost see through back panel; a good nod to the sports-luxe trend I can’t see to kick!
As it was still chilly this week I couldn’t go out without a scarf and this huge snake print (50% wool/50% silk) Becksondergaad scarf was great for the morning/evening chill and the aircon in the office! I am addicted to Becksondergaard scarfs; they start at around £25 and are great for everyday wear with any outfit but especially for flying as you can just wrap yourself up in them to keep warm.
Jeans: IDA by Donna Ida – Audrey in black
Sneakers: Nike SB Blazer
Watch: Toy Watch
Cuff: Kenneth Jay Lane
This outfit was finished with my trusty Nike SB Blazers, these are looking a bit tatty now due to the soakings they’ve had in some freak Chelsea Harbour rain, I’m sure that place has some of the oddest weather I have ever seen! Out come some old accessories to finish off my look; the silver pyamid cuff is from Kenneth Jay Lane purchased in around 2007 and my Toy Watch from around 2009.
On Friday it was a colleagues leaving drinks after work so I thought I would wear something I could wear for drinks in Chelsea after. I dug out my J Brand Agnes Jeans, a style which I still love and paired with my Sandro leopard print sweater which I hadn’t worn to the office before.
Jeans: J Brand Agnes in Sharkskin
Sneakers: Isabel Marant
Necklace: Monica Vinader
If you’re heading out in Chelsea and not doing heels the other footwear still to be seen in are Isabel Marant sneakers so mine got a wearing to the office and of course there were some cheeky comments! My current favourite Becksondergaard star scarf came out to play, love the leopard/star print clash.
So there we go two quite similar looks, I guess I should try and add a bit of colour to the wardrobe this week as spring looks like it may have arrived.
