All of 2011 I was lusting after a new bag, my last really big bag purchase was back in early 2003 when I bought my Mulberry Roxanne bag. I had just been promoted at work and thought I deserved a little treat for all my hard work! Since then I have had a few other bags, another couple of Mulberry bags as well as Burberry and a fantastic cross body bag from Topshop.
I really wanted an Alexa, however as soon as I said I was going to get it the receptionist at work got it in the same colour as I wanted, so that was it Alexa off the list! Although rumor has it that hers is fake!
Then the Tillie came out and I ‘kinda’ liked it, carried it in the shop several times but the gold was screaming at me NO, not a fan of bright shiny gold. So I decided I didn’t like any of the bags I had seen enough to payout.
Then Mr B bought me my MacBook Air which I wanted to take everywhere with me so I had no choice but to look for a new bag 🙂
Had another look at the Mulberry, very nearly bought an Alexander Wang backpack, looked at loads of others but none had a top handle and a decent strap, but then I discovered the Anya Hindmarch – Huxley – it was LOVE at first sight.
My local House of Fraser only had the velvet calf nude version in store but once that bag was in my hand that was it. The leather is just so, so, so very soft! The light version wasn’t really practical for what I was after and one of my Mulberry bags is in a similar colour, I wanted black.
I was already to purchase the bag online just before Christmas as a little treat to myself for being such a good girl 🙂 this year but it vanished from My-Wardrobe! Probably as they had just sent me a 40% off discount code. I emailed them asking if they would be getting anymore in stock but they said no, then their sale started……
Somehow I found a cached page of the Huxley with 30% off, but out of stock, I checked back each day then bingo! There it was on the 21st December 30% off ‘just 1 left’ – IN MY BAG so clicked add to basket straight away and splashed the cash. As usual with My-Wardrobe the delivery was super quick arriving the next day, all nicely gift wrapped – yes I know that’s sad!
Huxley was on it’s way, had it sent to Mr Bs work and I so needed it straight away, so met him at lunch to collect. The box it was in was huge and I had to carry it home up through the cobbled Christmas shopper manic Guildford High Street – I kinda felt like the girl in the Roger Sanchez – Another Chance Video with the huge heart getting in everyones way!
Once I was home it was out the box before I had got my coat off!
