I’ve had a little beauty splurge recently so I thought I would share a few of my buys. A few months ago I smashed my Chanel bronzer compact and although I tried to continue to use it every time I opened the compact the bronzer would just go everywhere! Mr B was getting annoyed with pinky/brown marks making their way onto our pure white bedding so to stop this continuing he bought me on of the Chanel ‘Les Beiges’ compacts just before we went away on holiday.
I have wanted one for ages, really since the Chanel make-up artist at the 2013 Vogue Festival used the powder on me, it gives such a natural glow that you can really blend into the skin. I have gone one shade darker (No 30) than my natural skin tone to use it as more of a natural highlighter/bronzer, it just totally gives me a clear, perkier complexion, all I wore on holiday make up wise was this and a bit of mascara. Obviously being Chanel the compact is just beautiful to look at!
Another Chanel purchase was a new nail polish. I’m a little bit addicted to Chanel nail polish, I know its not the best out there but there is just something special about getting the latest Chanel colour. As nude nails are everywhere and I wanted something a little neutral for my friends wedding last weekend I opted for Secret. This shade is a little pinker than I would’ve really liked, I wanted something with more of a beige/camel undertone but after two coats the pink is quite prominent. This isn’t a favourite Chanel shade that’s for sure but it’s growing on me.
Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl eye pencil in Barbarella Brown – £19 – buy here
My next two make-up purchases are from Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve been using the Nude Kate lipstick for nearly a year now and it’s all I really wear but I finally made my way to the Selfridges counter last Friday after work to pick up a eye liner and beach stick. I went for the Rock n Kohl liquid eye pencil in ‘Barbarella Brown‘, black is too harsh for me but this is a nice deep brown which just glides on and stays on! It stayed put during 12 hours of emotional wedding fun and dancing, so this eye pencil gets a big thumbs up from me!
Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Las Salinas – £30 buy here
Instead of buying another Nars Multiple I thought I would give one of the Charlotte Tilbury beach sticks a go just for a change. I have used the Nars Multiple in ‘Orgasm’ for years and years; it just gives the perfect pop of colour to the cheeks so this new Beach Stick has a lot to live up to! I went for a pink colour ‘Las Salinas’ almost Selina ha!
This gives a lovely dewy glow with a golden undertone when on the cheeks. I have also used this a lot on my lips, it really does work well for both lips and face. The colour on my lips is a bright but natural pink and it stays on, I have been dabbing it on my lips all week and it really does brighten my face up, its the first bright pink lip colour that I think suits me.
Necklace – Monica Vinader
Tee – Sandro (past season)
The picture above is me yesterday wearing just Clarins moisturiser, the Chanel ‘Les Beiges’ to even out my skin tone, the Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick on my lips and cheeks, a bit of the Rock n Kohl eyeliner and YSL Baby Doll mascara in brown. The light was a little strange as this was taken as it was starting to get dark so my face wasn’t this shiny in real life but hopefully you get the idea of how I have used the Beach Stick.
